                 Some Interesting Facts of Earth!

Earth is the third planet from our solar system and it is the largest terrestrial planet .It is formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago and it is called as a planet to support life.

·       The Earth rotation is gradually slowing down-It is true that Earth’s rotation is slowing about 17 milliseconds per hundred years and after 140 million year, one day will be equal to 25 hours.

·       Earth has a powerful magnetic field-This phenomenon occur due to the nickel core of the planet, couple with its rapid rotation. This magnetic field protects the earth from solar wind.

·       Tectonic plates keep the earth comfortable-Earth is the only planet in solar system that has tectonic plates. This outer crust the Earth is broken up into regions known as tectonic plates. These are floating on top of the magma interior of the Earth and can move against one another. When two plates collide, one plate will sub duct (go underneath another), and where they pull apart, they will allow fresh crust to form.

·       The Earth is the densest plant in the solar system- This varies according to part of the planet; for example the metallic core is denser than the crust. The average density of the Earth is approximately 5.52 gram per cubic centimeter.

·       Earth does not take 24 hours –The Earth take actually 23 hours 56 minute 4 seconds to complete its rotation on its axis.

·       The Earth was ones believed to be centre of the universe due to the apparent movement of sun and planets. In relation to their view point some ancient scientist or you can say the great Sir Copernicus insisted that Earth is the centre and all other bodies are moving around it.
